Microraptor - WIP

Inspired by a photo of a harpy eagle I saw somewhere:)

...or sth like that.

A Photoshop exercise, general setting referenced from some photo.

I browsed through my old works and realized how much I dislike that digital smoothness in some of them (especially here - Jyotsana , I'd like to totally repaint this).

Just a little drawing...

(Looks too flat, especially leg area, I'll see what I can do about it:P)

character sketches

This time I'm uploading some original character sketches. It's high time I started drawing my comic at last, I've got a lot of free time and I'm totally wasting it>_<

Aliele on a dragon (it's not an actual dragon, but in their world they're called this way) and Jyotsana

Aliele and Ruagh in some ancient ruins:

my works published

I was commissioned by a popular science magazine "Focus"  to draw 9 creatures, whose remains were found in Poland. It's for their special edition about dinosaurs (available only in Poland).
I totally suck at drawing amphibians, but looks like I pulled it off :P

oviraptorids again + some old stuff

I drew a new version of Oviraptor philoceratops - fluffier and with shorter tail. I like it way more than the older one... The other dino is Nemegtomaia.

I'm also working on another Citipati picture, this time involving evil velociraptors:]

The second picture shown here is reaaally old, I drew it when I didn't have a tablet, 6 or 7 years ago. Lines were drawn with pen, colors added in Photoshop (with mouse). I was SO proud of this picture back then. Maybe someday I'll paint it again, but this time using tablet.

picture preview

Preview of a picture (1 of 9) that'll be published in a popular science magazine here in Poland. I'll write more when it comes out:)

Citipati witch chicks - step by step, sort of

It's a short step-by-step thing for Citipati with chicks. It's a pretty easy method, I also used it for Archaeopteryx :)

Re-drawing the pencil sketch is the most time-consuming stage, the picture's size has to be really large and the brush's size should be about 5-7.

In October 2008 I planned to draw whole Oviraptoridae family, just like I did with Troodontidae (link). Unfortunately, I managed to draw only 4 species, start one and then I got bored. I've been thinking about reactivating it for some time already, but I think I should first develop some new drawing method (less exhausting than the old one;)).

Here are the ones I finished (their tails might be too long):
Oviraptor philoceratops

Citipati osmolskae

Rinchenia mongoliensis

Nemegtomaia barsboldi

Conchoraptor gracilis (work in progress, probably never to be finished)

First post :D

I've been thinking about an art blog for some time and I've got it at last;)
I'm going to upload here various stuff like sketches, wips, finished works maybe too (mostly stuff that won't appear on dA).

A little drawing of Mononykus olecranus:

...with closeups:

Alvarezsaurids were cool dinos, although I find their "hands" kinda creepy.
